With intense colors and distorted faces, it probes the intricate self-other dynamic. Two faces nestle yet remain estranged — a meditation on friendship and the inner self. Is human connection merely a mirror projection? Can we ever truly touch the other? Moving beyond self-portraiture, the work captures that intimate-alienated tension: seeming understanding against an unyielding barrier. Emotional uncertainty lurks within smeared pigments and exaggerated brushstrokes, each stroke narrating friendship’s warmth and fractures, the self’s opposition and resonance with the world. This visual dialogue invites the question: in friendship, do we seek another “self,” or are we just fragments assembled by others? Double Mirror is a philosophical inquiry into existence and connection, urging us to confront ourselves anew while gazing at the other.
